Converting the domain name to @FPT.COM, what are FSOFTers expected to do?
In the process of converting the email domain to @FPT.COM, users are classified into 2 groups: (1) The group keeping the same account but changing the email extension and (2) The group changing both the account and the email extension. Users of these 2 groups are expected to follow the corresponding instructions:
(1) FSOFTers keeping the same account but changing the email extension
FSOFTers in this group are expected to do nothing, but re-granting permissions for files due to the change of email address, so the old permissions are no longer valid. Specifically:
• Desktop Profile: The data stays unchanged
• Office 365 software:
- Email: unaffected. FSOFTers must notify customers of the change of email address.
- Teams: unaffected, FSOFTers need to re-share files on Teams
- OneDrive/ SharePoint/ Power Platform: The data on these platforms stay unchanged, FSOFTers need to re-grant access to the expected recipients via their new email address (@fpt.com).
(Note: Power Platform consists of Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents)
• Internal tools and FPT’s tools:
The domain conversion on the tools is handled by IT and FST, FSOFTers are expected to do nothing (The list of the internal tools is attached in the comment section below).

(2) FSOFTers changing both the account and the email extension
This group has about 2.000 accounts. The list will be announced on April 1, within a week afterward, FSOFTers will receive an email with detailed instructions from IT Manager to complete the domain conversion and notify customers.
• Desktop Profiles:
FSOFTers use the old account to back up the data on the Desktop PC/Laptop (transfer the entire Desktop folder at C:/user/old account/desktop to C:/user/new account/desktop) and upload it to the Desktop of the new account.
• Office 365 software:
- Email: FSOFTers need to export and import data to the new email account. Before April 28, FSOFTer should continue sending and receiving mail using the old account. At this time, the new account should only be used for data backup. FSOFTer will switch to using a new account once FSOFT’s entire system has been converted (after April 28).
- Teams: when accessing Teams with the new account, data of the old account like 1-1 chat history and files will be lost. FSOFTers need to add the new account to the chat groups/Teams/Channel and set the owner permission for the new account.
- OneDrive/ SharePoint/ Power Platform: FSOFTers need to back up data and re-grant permissions on these platforms
(Note: Power Platform includes Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents)
• Internal tools and FPT’s tools:
The domain conversion on the tools is handled by IT and FST, FSOFTers are expected to do nothing (The list of the internal tools is attached in the comment section below).
Note: Once the new account is provided (April 1st as planned), FSOFTers can back up data and use the new account.
By the end of April 28, IT and FST will trigger converting to the new domain. After this date, FSOFTers will no longer be able to perform any tasks on the old account, so FSOFTers should back up data and notify customers as soon as possible. Kindly note that the old email address with the extension @fsoft.com.vn and @intellinet.com remains valid for 2 years from the time of conversion for receiving emails only.
