The Fourth of July, celebrated in the US as Independence Day, is one of the oldest Independence Day commemorations globally. On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence penned by Thomas Jefferson, a key figure among the Founding Fathers, signifying the end of British colonial rule over 13 American colonies.

In preparation for July 4, everyone cleans their homes and hoists flags to honor the National Day. Festivities kick off on the evening of July 3 with the highlight being the lighting of towering bonfires made of wooden barrels, a thrilling tradition. On the same day, states across the country organize firework shows, parades, artistic performances, baseball games, hot dog eating contests, and various other engaging activities.

Let’s admire more brilliant images through the lens of Ms. Thao!
