Foreign FSOFTers bring excitement to students in mountainous areas

The presence of two members, Wilkeson Charles (DXT) and Godliness Iwuchukwu Chijindu (GHC), on FSOFT’s volunteer trip to 4 schools in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province recently brought a new breeze, “inspiring” the joy, excitement, and curiosity of the students of this mountainous district.

Haitian guy, Wilkenson Charles, started working at FSOFT in 2021 as a Developer, while Chijindu is a “newbie” from Nigeria, currently working for GHC. As soon as they received information about the volunteer trip to Huong Son, Ha Tinh, the two boys volunteered to register with the desire to set foot in many provinces and cities of Vietnam through meaningful activities organized by the company. position.

“Two years ago, when I first arrived in Vietnam, I was surrounded by the vibrant energy and warmth of this country. I felt like I had entered a new world, rich in colors, sounds, and flavors. To me, Vietnam is a symphony of endless experiences,” Chijindu excitedly shared. That’s why this Nigerian guy decided to come to Vietnam to work long term to explore this S-shaped strip of land fully.

The volunteer trip to Huong Son, Ha Tinh is a special occasion when FSOFT 3 regions converge. Traveling nearly 400 km by car with the FSOFT Hanoi group, Wilkeson and Chijindu were able to freely admire the natural scenery of Vietnam, the rice fields in the harvest season, the yellow straw dunes spread across the roadside, and the rolling mountains. endlessly… Not only that, the two boys also get to enjoy local specialties every time they visit such as eel soup, star fruit hot pot, and “cu do” cake, etc.

Perhaps what impressed Wilkeson and Chijindu the most was the students’ admiration, excitement, and enthusiasm. Seeing two foreigners carrying boxes of computers, books, and other items inside the school, one kid shouted “Hello” from a distance, while another student and his classmates clustered around, peering and discussing something, and some of them kept gazing at them with curiosity. Until the exchange began, everyone resembled a flock of birds with damaged nests. The students and even the teachers rushed to shake hands and feet and beg for photographs. A Ho Tung Mau Secondary School student with an IELTS score of 7.0 approached Chijindu and took advantage of the chance to take a few photos.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang – Head of the Education & Training Department of Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province could not hide his excitement. “The appearance of two foreign FSOFTers at schools in Huong Son, Ha Tinh has partly become a motivation for students to be interested in and improve their foreign language learning,” said Mr. Giang. He also hopes that if Huong Son has the opportunity to welcome the delegation in the future, there will be more exchange activities between foreigners and students.

Wrapped in their children’s arms, Wilkenson and Chijindu were happy because they had done many meaningful things. Together with the group, Chijindu personally installed computers for the children, enjoyed cultural exchanges, and talked with the teachers. “Vietnam welcomed me with open arms and taught me the true meaning of community, resilience, and joy. As I continue my journey here, I am excited to discover more of Vietnam’s hidden gems and create new memories that will stay with me forever,” Chijindu confided.

Hopefully, on the next volunteer paths of the Software family, there will be new “birds” from many countries, to once again explore the country and people of Vietnam and above all, immerse themselves in the beauty of culture for the community of FSOFT people, thereby spreading humanistic values to the community.
