FPT Community Fund supports children of former FSOFTers

Last week, the representatives of the FSOFT Labor Union in Hanoi visited 5 families of employees who passed away. The delegation presented gifts to support FSOFT Small orphans. This annual activity is held by FPT Community Fund, donated by FSOFTers via the one-day-salary donation program.

The trip had the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong – Chairwoman of the FSOFT Labor Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Van – Vice Chairwoman of the FSOFT Labor Union and Fun Union staff in Hanoi.

Visiting the family of Mr. Le Quoc Nam in Thach That, the delegation was touched by his two children who are 7 and 5 years old. Five years ago, Mr. Nam passed away after a stroke, leaving his elderly parents, a young wife and two young children. The pain piled up when his parents also lost their only daughter – Mr. Nam’s older sister due to blood cancer after 5 years of fighting against the disease. Both of their children are gone, they left their home in Thanh Hoa to go to Hanoi in order to support their daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren.

Mr. Nam’s family was touched by FSOFT’s warm heart, which relieves their self-pity. Tears rolled down the cheeks of the woman in her 60s who had gone through so much loss. For now, she just wishes she could be healthy enough to help her daughter-in-law take care of 2 children.

Saying goodbye to Mr. Nam’s family, the delegation visited Mr. Cao Dai Duong’s family in Linh Dam and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang’s family on Khuong Trung Street. Pretty small apartments of nearly 40 square meters shelter the wife and small children. The children are at school age, without a father, the burden is on the shoulders of young wives. The children lack the dad’s warmth and have almost no memories because their father passed away when they were too young.

At the end of the journey, the group visited Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy Hong’s family on Ton Duc Thang Street and Mai Thi Phuong Thao’s parents on Ta Quang Buu Street. Ms. Hong passed away due to cancer 10 years ago and Chau Anh – her only daughter is now 12 years old. Without her mother, Chau Anh seems stronger and more mature than her peers. She wishes to get to know more about her mother. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong and her mother used to work in the same department and Ms. Huong told Chau Anh about her mother.

The trip was meaningful, the footsteps seemed heavier due to the pain of the families. “FSOFT Labor Union organizes annual trips to support the families of employees who passed away, helping FSOFT Small grow up to be good individuals”, shared Ms. Van.
