FPT partners with Irish entities to develop technology talent and promote AI applications
Within the framework of the state visit at the invitation of Irish President Michael D. Higgins, Party General Secretary, and Vietnamese President To Lam, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation documents between several Vietnamese universities and enterprises with Irish counterparts. Notably, FPT announced its partnership with ADAPT Research Center, Dublin City University – ranked among the top 50 young universities globally – and Kyndryl, a Fortune 500 company.
In the presence of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Group, and Professor Cathal Gurrin, Vice Head of Computer Science, Director of ADAPT Center, Dublin City University, exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of high-tech human resources.
Specifically, FPT and the ADAPT Research Center, Dublin City University, will collaborate on training high-tech human resources in the field of AI. Accordingly, Dublin City University will send lecturers to Vietnam to train AI students at FPT University Da Nang and organize seminars to exchange teaching experiences with young lecturers at FPT University. Simultaneously, Dublin City University will also provide scholarships for young lecturers at FPT University to pursue doctoral studies in AI and short-term internships for AI students at FPT University.



FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh affirmed: “The strategy of developing artificial intelligence is closely tied to FPT’s destiny. The cooperation with Dublin City University opens a new chapter in FPT’s AI engineer training activities. Vietnam being chosen as a semiconductor and artificial intelligence center is the future of the world. If we can train 1 million AI engineers, Vietnam will be among the leading nations.”
Immediately afterward, FPT Group CEO Nguyen Van Khoa and Mr. Chris Davis, CEO of Kyndryl – an IT infrastructure provider on the Fortune 500 list – signed a framework agreement on cooperation in digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence applications, witnessed by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam.
Accordingly, the two parties will discuss the signing of a framework cooperation contract to develop AI applications and digital transformation for customers in the banking, insurance, and retail sectors in Ireland. Previously, FPT and Kyndryl had cooperated to expand their customer base in markets such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Also at the event, Mr. Mark Lloyd Scrivens, General Director of FPT UK and Ireland, and Mr. Matt Sawyer, Vice President of Kyndryl UK and Ireland, also had a working session to discuss plans to strengthen strategic cooperation in the UK market in the coming time.
FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa affirmed: “FPT’s expansion of cooperation with Kyndryl in the Irish market marks another step in the strategy of global coverage and positions Vietnam as a technological bright spot. We evaluate this as a potential market and consider this an opportunity for FPT to showcase its capabilities and affirm its maturity in Ireland and the European market in general.”
