Leveraging strengths to enhance development in the South Korea market
On October 20th, a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam visited and held discussions with FSOFT’s leaders at Hola Park. During the meeting, the Korean delegation exchanged ideas with FSOFT’s leaders regarding support for visa procedures, residency, and taxation. This meeting also opened up many cooperation opportunities, promoting FSOFT’s business activities in the Korean market.
The delegation from the Korean Embassy was led by H.E. Choi Youngsam, the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, and was received by FSOFT’s Chairwoman, Chu Thi Thanh Ha, FHN Director Doan Phu Tai, FPT Korea CEO Ha Minh Tuan, and FSOFT Academy Vice Director Nguyen Van Vinh.

In this two-hour discussion, both parties emphasized the strong diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. They discussed future cooperation and business development. The year 2023 marks a significant period for the transition of the Korea-Vietnam cooperation structure, shifting from mechanical engineering to software technology, semiconductor manufacturing, and education.
Additionally, Ambassador Choi Youngsam stated that the Korean Embassy is committed to supporting exchange and interaction programs to develop human resources and connect young Vietnamese talent with Korean businesses. Mr. Yang Ki Sung, in charge of Science and Technology, emphasized Korea’s interest in promoting recruitment and training programs with FPT University and AF to create IT professionals proficient in the Korean language.
At the beginning of the meeting, FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Korean government to FPT as a whole and FSOFT in particular. She highlighted that, even though the Korean market’s office was established later, its growth rate has been rapid, doubling each year and catching up with other major markets. Ambassador Choi Youngsam agreed with this observation, stating, “I believe that the Korean market will experience strong growth, and FPT’s potential in Korea is significant. It is certain that the company will develop and become a strong competitor for Korean enterprises in the future.”
During this visit, FPT Korea CEO Ha Minh Tuan proposed that the Korean Embassy provide consultation and assistance to FSOFT in the process of sending personnel to work on-site in Korea. In response to this suggestion, the delegation assured FSOFT that the Korean Embassy would support and facilitate procedures for Vietnamese businesses with offices in Korea, including FPT, regarding visa applications, residence permits, and taxation. Deputy Economic Cooperation Minister Park Seung Un summarized and took note of FSOFT’s proposals regarding visa policies (E-7) and new policies for on-site personnel studying language and specialization for 3-6 months before directly working with clients in Korea.
After the tour, Ambassador Choi Youngsam praised the CodeCation campus at Hola Park for its green and modern environment. He also noted the similarities between FSOFT’s corporate culture and that of major corporations in Korea. As the meeting coincided with Vietnamese Women’s Day, Ambassador Choi had special wishes and a gift for Chairwoman Ha on this occasion.
