Meet a FAMer who has a strong passion for nature photography
Nguyen Pham Thanh Thao (FAM.AF) discovered a profound love for natural wonders, especially captivating sunsets with their ever-changing hues. This inspired her to always have her camera handy to capture the stunning sights she encountered, preserving genuine memories and experiences for herself.
Even though Thao works in the Accounting department in Dallas, she has chosen to live and work remotely in Seattle, Washington state. During her leisure time, she finds pleasure in exploring Instagram, where she is captivated by the artistic images shared by bloggers worldwide. One day, she had an epiphany that the beauty of the natural landscapes and urban architecture around her was just as stunning as the photos she admired online. This realization sparked her passion for photography, as she began to capture the enchanting moments of nature around her. Ms. Thao expressed her journey of discovery and creativity in these words.
Thao started paying closer attention to natural phenomena like the weather, the moon, the sun, rain, and rainbows, as well as significant events. She sought out more chances to capture beautiful moments. By actively befriending like-minded individuals, she aimed to learn from their experiences and draw inspiration from their stories.
Whenever the weather is clear and sunny, Ms. Thao seizes the chance to drive to the beach and witness the sunset, enriching her photo collection with a variety of sky colors.
Capturing street scenes is another area that Ms. Thao is enthusiastic about exploring through photography. She shared, “I drew inspiration from street photos on popular Instagram accounts. Some scenes may seem ordinary, but through their perspective and lens, they transform into creative art pieces. I truly admire their talent and aspire to capture stunning photos like them.”
Moreover, she enjoys photographing her friends and relatives, particularly those interested in modeling. It brings her joy to help them capture beautiful moments, and she feels proud when the models are pleased with the photos.
During her time in the US, Ms. Thao has traveled to numerous cities across various states. Each city holds its unique charm, but she was particularly captivated by New York, home to Central Park – a vast park spanning 3.41 km2 situated in the heart of the grand city. The architectural blend of classical buildings and modern skyscrapers left a lasting impression on her. She would spend hours daily strolling around, admiring the cityscape and capturing memorable moments. New York remains a destination she wishes to revisit frequently to fulfill her passion for photography.
