FGC publishes book title “IT Japanese for Software Industry”

On the afternoon of June 1, FSOFT held a ceremony to introduce a new book titled “IT Japanese for Software Industry”. The book was compiled by authors from FGC.

The book has 15 lessons that are linked throughout and designed to simulate the life cycle of a simulated project. The steps are arranged in order from start to finish like the standard life cycle of a software project. These are the experiences drawn and perfected by a team of translators and interpreters who have directly participated in software development projects with Japanese clients and have had many Japanese language training classes at enterprises for a long time.

The authors have also tried to include many synonyms in the lesson, thereby helping learners to easily visualize the overall software development project and at the same time grasp the IT vocabulary that appear in different phases throughout a software project.

The structure of each lesson consists of two parts: reading comprehension and conversation. The reading comprehension section helps readers gain more knowledge about the IT field. The dialogue section simulates project meetings. Each conversation has a QR code linked to the Searchdi.io page where learners can practice their listening skills.

According to Mr. Dang Khai Hoan – Director of FGC (the editor and producer of this book), “IT Japanese for Software Industry” is the answer to the question of how to learn Japanese so that you can immediately apply to work.” And the target audience for this book is people who are using Japanese in the IT field with Japanese clients, or people who are studying Japanese at an intermediate level or higher.

Commenting on this book, Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Ha – FSOFT Chairwoman, affirmed, “You learn and then you pracice. You practice and the practice becomes a part of you and that is the root of learning. The book is meant for you to practice and make Japanese a part of you. And I truly appreciate the authors of the book for that.”

Ms. Ha also emphasized that the lessons here are not only the results distilled from tens of thousands of FSOFT projects, but also the love and enthusiasm that FGC’s authors and thousands of FJP employees have for the country of the rising sun.

FPT Japan CEO Do Van Khac sincerely shared, “With my limited Japanese, I could not fully read this book, but I realized it is my support, my lifeline in learning Japanese, to understand my clients, and to work in the IT industry with Japanese clients.”

Professor Kuroda Hideo – Principal of FPT Japanese Language School (based in Tokyo), also highly appreciated the book as the authors and the editorial board are both experienced translators and interpreters. According to him, the editorial board daily undertakes the translation work in software development projects, so the content in each chapter is practical.

“To date, many books on working Japanese have been published, but the book covers all situations in a software development project, from the project kick-off meeting, to the survey section. The level of customer satisfaction at the end of the life cycle for a project like this is truly groundbreaking,” commented Mr. Kuroda.

Participating in the book launch ceremony, FSOFT CDO Vu Tien Dat highly appreciated the enthusiasm of the authors in bringing practical value to FSOFTers in particular, and those who are working and studying IT Japanese in Vietnam in general. Mr. Dat hopes that the book will not only be usefully used within FSOFT, but also be welcomed and used by the majority of the IT community in Vietnam.

The author group of the book includes Mr. Dang Khai Hoan, Ms. Komaki Michiko, Ms. Dinh Thi Hang Nga, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Ly, and Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu. The filming, edit and design team includes Mr. Ichinose Susumu, Mr. Tamura Takashi, Mr. Minoura Hirohito, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thao, and Ms. Ha Thi Thu Thao. All members are from FGC.

At the publishing ceremony, FGC Director Dang Khai Hoan revealed the plan that in 2022, FGC will continue to release 3 other books. Accordingly, volume 1 of the new book series will focus on practical instructions for writing emails in IT communication with Japanese people, volume 2 is practice for meeting and volume 3 is practice for presentation.
