FGC spreads the “AI First” culture through the AIAgent4FGC playground
Artificial intelligence is no longer just a trend—it has become an integral part of the daily tasks performed by FSOFTers. Embracing this wave, the FGC unit has launched AIAgent4FGC, a competition where Comtors build and train “AI assistants” to support their work.
Running from August 8 to September 30, the contest consists of three challenging rounds. Its goal is to encourage translators and interpreters to explore and apply AI directly to their professional duties, creating an internal playground where fresh ideas can spread and be put into practice.

In the preliminary round, the organizing committee recorded the participation of 132 Agents from FGC units across three regions. After scoring, aided by AI, 35 outstanding Agents advanced to the semifinals. Here, Comtors train their Agents to efficiently handle specific tasks in a wide range of applications: from specialized fields such as Automotive, Insurance, Healthcare, to supporting translation in IT, preparing for certifications like JLPT, ITIL, BJT, and more. Notably, the XPM-Agent also helps FGCers perform project tasks beyond translation more smoothly.
On September 30, the final round will take place with the five highest-scoring Agents. The creators will present, debate, and convince the panel and the entire unit of the effectiveness and broad applicability of their developed Agents. The final ranking will be determined by audience votes. This day is also special for the translation community—marking International Translation Day and celebrating Comtor Day at FGC.
Every Agent created is a testament to FGC’s spirit of innovation and creativity. AIAgent4FGC is not just a competition—it opens up a practical application repository for all FSOFTers to access, experiment with, and select an AI assistant that suits their needs. And perhaps, the very Agents from this contest will soon become familiar helpers for software professionals in their daily work.
